Lizzie Ferguson
Studio Owner and Instructor
Meet Lizzie — Founder and Instructor at The Pilates Space
With over a decade of teaching experience, Lizzie brings a deep understanding of movement, alignment, and strength to every Pilates session. A proud Louisiana State University (LSU) graduate with a degree in Kinesiology, she combines scientific knowledge of the body with a passion for mindful movement to help clients feel and function at their best.
Before discovering Pilates, Lizzie spent years as an equestrian, where she developed an appreciation for balance, control, and body awareness — qualities that naturally led her to Pilates. What began as cross-training quickly became a lifelong practice and career.
Lizzie completed her comprehensive BASI Pilates teacher training in 2014, one of the most respected teacher training programs in the world, and is currently advancing her education through the BASI Legacy Program, an elite mentorship designed for experienced instructors seeking to deepen their craft.
Outside the studio, Lizzie is an avid marathon runner who firmly believes that Pilates is the perfect complement to any athletic pursuit — especially running. Her teaching emphasizes strength, stability, and flow, helping every client move with confidence and ease, both in and out of the studio.
At The Pilates Space, Lizzie creates a welcoming, authentic environment where people of all levels can discover the transformative power of Pilates.

Mary Thrasher

Mary has been teaching Pilates for over 8 years. She has danced throughout her life and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University in 2017. While at SHSU, Mary completed her Pilates mat and comprehensive training through Balanced Body under the mentorship of Betty Nicolay. In 2023, Mary graduated from Peak Pilates’ “Discover Move and Inspire,” a Master’s Pilates certification program under the guidance of Nancy Hurd, Cherry Herzog, and Laura Hampton.
She has taken workshops under Lolita San Miguel, Chris Robinson, Carrie Samper, and many other esteemed instructors in the national Pilates community. Mary would describe her teaching style as precise and technical, with an emphasis on posture, proprioception and fun! With experience teaching beginners to super advanced clientele, she loves to tailor session programming to challenge every client, regardless of ability, at an appropriate, safe level. Mary personally trains seriously in classical Pilates every week through her own personal practice, prides herself on being a forever student, and continually seeks out continuing education within the Pilates community to grow. She loves to teach the classical system across the spectrum of apparatuses and greatly enjoys teaching her clientele about the origin and history of Contrology.
If Mary could go back and talk to one historical figure – it would most definitely be Joseph Pilates!
